THE CHRISTMAS THAT NEVER WAS
It seemed like fourth of July was just here BBQ's and fireworks...and now it's Christmas morning. As a kid it's something that everybody looks forward to, but this one was just a little off. The usual "Dancer," that dad had over as, "a guest", the dad that would always make my brother and I breakfast, he hasn't been seen in over a week. For over a week, no dad. We looked at each other, we heard some scratches and yelling that morning coming from the next door neighbors that woke us up. So there you have it, Christmas morning. We go outside to find our father parked on top of the neighbors Christmas decorations. The neighbor who just discovered the same scene was violently screaming and cursing at our father...who was still passed out inside of our car.
NEIGHBOR You're parked on top of Santa Clause! You've ran over the reindeers! What the fuck is wrong with you?
SCENE: Almost exactly on que dear old dad rolls down the car window with a cigarette dangling from his lips and asks "Good Ole Bob" for a light. He mumbles something like, "Happy New Year Bob." He then just rolls the window back up. And there goes Christmas.
DAD (Mumbles with cigarette dangling from lips) Bob, good ole Bob, give me a light will ya? (Happy New Year! Dad roles window back up.)
